New S.D. Jontho Tribute Vid uploaded + new Old House Records release
Jontho Panthera played the drums on almost all the SHADOW DANCERS releases in the 90s and a brand new Tribute-Video of one of the songs where he played the drums is now uploaded to the Official SHADOW DANCERS Youtube channel, you find it here:
SHADOW DANCERS In The Heart Of America
This is one of the first, very old SHADOW DANCERS songs, and appeared for the first time on a release in 1994, on the Blacker Then Better Between SHADOW DANCERS demo. The ultimate recording of the song is the opening track on the Equilibrio album from 1998, which is used in the Video. (Btw, Jontho played the drums on both of the two different recordings of the song). The music won't die even if we do!
The 3rd Old House Records release will be out any time very soon, as it is in the printing on the factory in Italy right now! This time it's a Split-Vinyl-CD with SIDIC and HAUNTED CHAPEL (two of S. Culto Occultus old side-projects), Hard-Rave Prog-Core Ambient Horror, recorded in Hellhouse in the year 2000. Only 50 hand-numbered copies to be made available! You will find more info about it here (under Merch) and on oldhouserecords.com
We have started the recording of a bunch of more SHADOW DANCERS songs, more info about it all later!

Death of an ex S.D.-member and new S.D. Promo-Vid
Back in the 90s one younger person came knocking on my window and we had a chat. This person proved to be genuinly dedicated to find out more about the rather unknown Black Metal scene in Norway of that time. We continued the contact and I gave him advices of what to do to reach out to the right persons in the very much obscure Underground scene around the World of that time, and he did all the right things! He had already been involved in some bands and he was about to form a new band that the whole World would later get to know about, through tours and a long list of releases: RAGNAROK. On this time, before they had released their first tapes in the middle of the 90s, he asked me about an artist-name of what he should use. I put together his original baptized names and I asked him about a fave animal and he became JONTHO PANTHERA. On this time we were seeking a drummer for SHADOW DANCERS and Jontho found his seat behind the battery (which we refered to as Cannons) and the songs suddenly felt complete. His great paSSion for playing drums and his skills just grew to something incredible during the 90s and when we re-recorded one of the first SHADOW DANCERS songs «In The Heart Of America» for the «Equilibrio» album he surely lifted this song to a new level. Jontho played the drums on all the songs on both SHADOW DANCERS CDs released in the 90s and on most KZ-releases. He also played the drums when we played on Bootleg in Oslo in 1995, you can see it here (this vid is not uploaded through an official SHADOW DANCERS channel, but a descriptive reference to what was going on in the 90s):
THE SHADOW DANCERS: My Fate Promo Video from the 90s
Even though Jontho was going through a depreSSion and had certain difficulties keeping appointments for planed meetings, I remember lots of laughter from all the great crazy fun during the 90s when we were all around doing all the many Rock'n'Roll things that the common A4 person would probably never experience ever in life! He lived life how he wanted to live it and didn't care too much about people's reactions, for instance, he could abruptly undreSS on a party and walk around there completely naked, to the other participants surprise, as if it was the most natural thing for him to do, haha, that's a Rock'n'Roll spirit! During the 90s we frequently used to be in Oslo, just jumped on a train without a specific plan or even knowing where we would end up, but it was always Rock'n'Roll from the beginning to the end! On one of the old SHADOW DANCERS reh.places Jontho and I painted the walls black and prepared a part of that place for our practice of Occult and Satanic rituals, which of course was yet another surprise for random persons attendance during the controversial Satanic media wave in Norway of the 90s. Even we were serious about the various things we did of a profeSSional skill, we had great fun in seeing people's strange reactions on things they witneSSed that definately could be described as something very extraordinary. When Mr. Jim LordByron (PERDITION HEARSE drummer) was still among us, the three of us did even more unexpected things and I truly miSS those days! The both of them were really not afraid when things got bloody serious, in difference from most men, and I could for sure count on them if I had personal troubled times. Another thing we had in common was the fact that we were proud to be different than the ordinary man, and this was indeed a goal from the very beginning. Memorial photo is posted under the Pix section of this webpage.
I see you again on the other side bro

Brand new SHADOW DANCERS Promo-Video to the song «Dolce Vita» (taken from the November release «The Cumback») was made in December and an Official SHADOW DANCERS youtube channel has been made. For those who have heard «My Fate», which used to be the most melancholic SHADOW DANCERS song back in the 90s, this new song-recording is to the contrary the very opposite in quite many ways, to prove the very big difference in the various SHADOW DANCERS songs in both music-styles and construction. You find the video here:

We're back!
The unbearable fuckin heatwave seems to finally be over for this year and we've now started to do things again. We're now preparing (the finals of) songs and layout / illustrations for a release this comin autumn. It's now more than 2 decades since any previous SHADOW DANCERS release and several of the songs now recorded were meant being released a long time ago. New songs have also been made and if we continue on the same creative path where we've been this last year, who knows, maybe there will be yet another release without a too long waiting..

More songs recorded
We have now recorded more songs in it's entirety from beginning till end, including «Dolce Vita» and «Dusk». Both of these songs were once meant for the un-released (and at the time un-finished) «Sunset 99» album. We have also recorded 2 of the very early SHADOW DANCERS songs, which were made back in the days after the band was started in 1993. These songs are «The Bringer Of Light» which was originally meant to be a ballad of Lucifer, that was never properly recorded back in those days, and having it finally recorded now it sounds perhaps better described more like a Heavy Metal song. The 2nd of the 2 old ones is a re-recording of «Wanted! G.D.O.A.», which appeared for the first time as a rather different version on the 1994 Demo «Blacker Then Better Between». S.C.O. did a rather melancholic re-recording of this song some 20 years ago and now it's got a more Industrial feelin to it.
We have already mentioned some other songs here and was talkin about a poSSible pre-release of some chosen songs, but in the surprisingly fast tempo we are actually workin now, perhaps, if you are a little more patient, we may bring you a full-length album instead of the pre-release! We know that it will be a terrible hot summer also this year, starting soon, and that may presumably unwillingly force us to have a break from it all or at least slow us considerably down for that period, but for those of you who know the link, check in here and it's the place you will find out what is and about to happen.

More music-clips of songs
Posted more clips of songs here under Music/Videos the last day of February. The new recording of «Not My Problem» is performed by Pala, S.C.O. and M:A Fog. No one has ever heard this old SHADOW DANCERS song in it's entirety even before or now, anyway, it is one of the chosen songs for a new SHADOW DANCERS release. Pala and S.C.O. have also re-recorded «Streets Of Amsterdam» from the beginning to the end now.
And for the very first time, also available for pre-listen now, new demo/test-recording of the PERDITION HEARSE song «Cerberos Leads Us Through». KeSSel has re-recorded all the old PERDITION HEARSE songs in a way that no one has ever heard them before, with more powerful sound and this is the first song Cultoculus (aka Occultus) has recorded vocal on so far, completely different from anything you have heard of PERDITION HEARSE songs earlier!
Also a clip posted of the THYABHORRENT song «Death Rides At Dawn» from the 2020 re-mix of the «Occultus Brujeria» demo.

THE OTHER SIDE release, other side-projects, more songs.
THE OTHER SIDE "A Journey To The Underworld" Vinyl-CD was released yesterday and sold-out yesterday. This is S.C.O.'s Darkwave project with recordings from 1999. For those who wanna get it, try some record-label distributors in U.S.A. and Italy.
Some people have asked about S.C.O.'s many side-projects, well, for the very 1st time on internet, some clips have been uploaded to this website now, of THE OTHER SIDE, THE NICEGUYS and SIDIC. You find them on the Music/Videos page.
S.C.O. recently found a whole bunch of old songs he had forgotten about, which were made more than 2 decades ago, which means it should not be any stop in creativity for a looong time!

"Not My Problem" with drums, re-recordings of "Streets Of Amsterdam", "Dusk" and "Dolce Vita". Brand new SHADOW DANCERS Merchandise. THE OTHER SIDE Vinyl-CD release.
M:A Fog has recorded drums on the SHADOW DANCERS song «Not My Problem»! The song is mentioned on a SHADOW DANCERS Info Sheet from December 1997, so it's an old song and almost 30 years now since S.C.O. made it, so it's about time it should be released now! Whatsoever, it's uncertain if it ever was recorded properly in it's entirety back in the old days, something S.C.O. had been thinkin of for many years and finally sent recorded song-material to Pala, when they started the co-operation a few years ago, so this is the first S.D. song they did together, and now it exists with real drumming as well. «Not My Problem» is a catchy Rock'n'Roll song, in the vein of «In The Heart Of America» (one of the very first S.D. songs made). It's got more of the FUCK OFF nonchalant attitude and somewhat dirty feeling. A master-mix may be ready in February and on the time it's done a clip from it will be available on the Music/Videos page of this site.
Added brand new SHADOW DANCERS Merchandise yesterday; T-shirt (in 6 different sizes) and Patch-Hat, DARK METAL DEP ROCK SINCE 1993. You will find them products on the Merch page of this site.
S.C.O. has sent Pala the old recording of «Streets Of Amsterdam» with new basic guitars and test-recorded vocals added for the first time in the song. Pala has got started with the re-recording. The song is a bit unusual in it's construction, and on the original recording it was only some strange «samba-sounding» (!) drum-programming, so it will be interesting finally be able to hear this song recorded with real drums as well. The intro of this song is very mood-filled though, for a description.. can just as well mention what was written about it in an old S.D. Newsletter from Jan/Feb 1999: «this song's introduction contains an affectional mood which undoubtedly would make a person like Frank Booth emotionally charged as his blood froze». S.C.O. has re-written parts of the lyric and recorded test-vocals with the new words so far and will try out some more about this and do new vocal takes when the re-recording of the song is done. «Streets Of Amsterdam» is one of the old songs which was meant for the un-released «Sunset 99» album.
S.C.O. has listened through the original «Sunset 99» recording of the song named «Dusk» and has just got started to prepare additional recordings of instruments and test-vocals that was not in the basic recording. Will probably do the same kinda things for the «Dolce Vita» song in February.
S. Culto Occultus' Darkwave side-project THE OTHER SIDE from 1999 is just about to be released on Vinyl-CD since the copies are expected arriving any moment now. It's title is «A Journey To The Underworld» and it will be listed both here and on the oldhouserecords.com webpage, but unfortunately it's just a few copies left available now, it was more or leSS sold-out before it was released, but for the surprised people who have been searching for this music for many years without being able to hear it anywhere, at least one clip from it will be put here on this web-page when the release is listed. LONG LIVE THE UNDERGROUND!

First new recording
Shadow Dancers have started the recording of songs for a poSSible new full-length album. It is many songs to chose from and to get it all done will take time...but we will keep you updated of what is going on here.
«Great variation in both the music and vocals» - Clouseau
Those who have heard the new material and test-recordings say it is great variation in both music and vocals. We don't wanna rush the recording part of this proceSS of having the songs finished in their entirety. First it's an idea for one part, then it's complemented with additional riffs/parts and when the construction is finished for what can be called a new song, the recording of the various instruments start. Maybe some changes happen on this way of how things are done. And if you wonder why there is not several new songs ready already that you can hear, well keep in mind that we have just got started with the complete new line-up. We don't think you wanna hear unfinished material just because you're unpatience, better listen to something else in the meantime!
We have the inspiration to complete what we have started, and the instruments do not play themselves, it's things we gotta do. Also we have tried out some different mixes and we might still be doing that, at least for some of the songs, which we think can work out in different versions. So it's also up to us what we decide on doing, and which final result or even songs we decide on using. Some may like one version best, other persons may like another version better, people are luckily different, and whatsoever, we don't fuckin care if you like it or not, but we promise you variation and we advice you to hear more than just one recorded song if you want the right understanding of this band! Bla, bla, bla...
First of 3 chosen cover-songs
Moonlight Shadow
On the 19th of September 2024, we were ready with the DesperadoSadVox mix of our recording of MIKE OLDFIELDs "Moonlight Shadow". A moodfilled pop-song well-known for those who experienced the music of the 80s!
Pala did the final mixing and we think this turned out how we intentionally wanted it to sound; very sorrow-filled as a reflection of the sad lyric and the person being shot 6 times! First we did a Dark-Vocal mix of the song, it was also giving the song a new kind of mood, and we could likely have used this, but S.C.O. wanted the most melancholic feeling imaginable for this song, and that's why the vocal of crying sounds was chosen! This is very unusual, no one has heard this song been done like this before, and probably not any other song either, just for that matter! We expect that many people will be surprised, and probably there will be many that can't get used to be hearing this song done in this way, at least not in the very beginning, maybe after several listenings and if understanding the reason, but we don't think too much about that. S.C.O. suggested playing this song with the old-line up even back in the 90s, but it was not or could not be done on the time, so after all these many years it's been made.
These are some of the other songs ready in the composition (to be recorded):
-
Not My Problem
-
The Garden Of Illusion / Daimonrust
-
Apocalypse
-
Drive
-
Streets Of Amsterdam
-
It's A Long Road (the soundtrack main-title from First Blood).
More recordings
In which order the various songs will be recorded we yet do not know, but we have more or leSS finished versions recorded of "Not My Problem"and «It's A Long Road», so it's likely that those songs may be the next someone can hear.
-
On «Not My Problem» string-instruments and vocals are recorded, also synth for the mood. If the recordings already done will be used we don't know for sure, but we think we will have a finished new mix ready anyway, when the drums have been done.
-
For the soundtrack song «It's A Long Road» we also have the string-instruments and vocals recorded. If these recordings will be used for our final version of it we will find out when the drums have been recorded. More info about the 3rd a little later.
-
We are indeed excited to hear how the songs will sound like with human drums recorded, which makes a difference and we will just keep on going further on with more songs this 2025 year!
Eventually will songs be put on the Music / Videos page of this website, and some clips from some of them is probably the first thing that happen.
